Silicon Valley-Style Senior Java Engineers
Salary £Excellent + Package
Interviews throughout March and April
I am leading an urgent search for an expanding best-practice software enterprise in Belfast city centre who wish to instil a Silicon Valley attitude in its engineering team who code, debug and profile highly concurrent multi-threaded Java applications using rapid application development techniques on Unix and Linux. I want to hire the best Java engineers in the country, with passion and who can innovate, to work on large scale, concurrent, transactional, multi-threaded Java systems. Its expected you'll have been working with Java day in, day out for the past five to ten years or longer and the packages will reflect this.
These are brand new opportunities, with this company not hiring any engineers due to very low turnover in the past 6 months. This company hire the best for what is their European HQ and spawn out total product ownership for a whole family of products. They, like any enterprise, measure results, and if they aren’t good enough then they move on and that is about the only way they lose people. They are now embarking on an expansion mission to bring in six to ten new Senior Java Engineers to join early this summer for the long term. I can assure you that you will not have come across any opportunities with this company recently and these roles are rare.
It a high level these systems move large chunks of data around very fast and the engineering group builds products that are delivered by and run in a web browser. So aside from Java, exposure to associated technologies like AJAX, Struts, Hibernate and Web Services is very useful. You’ll ideally understand packets / packeting too and have strong academics. This team don’t play at packing or kernel level, but let’s be honest its good if you have that low-level experience.
My client employ over 80 technical specialists in Java development and QA globally and have grown steadily through the recession. They are positioned as one of the top three in their market, with over 500 clients in different sectors. The ultimate aim of the company is to go public and float on the stock exchange. Their prestigious customers include instantly recognisable retailers, utility companies, leading global tech companies, and they have strong partnerships with associated technology leaders in related domains.
It is highly likely this is the only chance to join this company in 2010. I will arranging interviews throughout March and April. Because of our knowledge of and experience in the N.I. IT skills market, and the depth and breadth of our candidate relationships, we are frequently invited to meet with potential IT and technology investors looking at setting up or expanding sites here. Frequently these companies will have skill profiles that they'd potentially like to hire for in N.I. Since these profiles are not yet "live" jobs, we are unable to advertise them. However, if we can demonstrate that the people with the skills are here, often the companies will be tempted to open a site. Those candidates who we may have introduced speculatively as part of the attraction process are usually at a distinct advantage when it comes to filling any new jobs. If you'd like to be kept aware of new developments like this, that are below the radar and not advertised, please contact us and we can arrange a meeting.
We are acting as an Employment Agency for this role.
