I am leading a search for world-class object orientated developers to deliver commercial applications using one or more of Java, C#, C++ or C at an enterprise level. This suite of products includes algorithmic/program trading solutions, market data solutions, risk management applications and market data management software. My client are a secure and established leading global service provider running for over a decade in the capital markets technology sector, providing software and consulting services to global investment banks and hedge funds.
They have offices in New York, Philadelphia, London, Singapore, Sydney and Ireland. They develop, implement and support a broad range of mission critical trading and risk management systems across front, middle and back-office operations. This results in streamlined operations, fewer costs and better risk management – important factors at any time but particularly in the current economic climate. They have recently embarked on a serious expansion program, hiring sixty new people in the last six months and we intend to help them maintain this level of growth. We are partnering with them to hire only the best.
My client value cultural fit, empathy, teamwork, co-operation, courtesy and honesty but if they had to pinpoint just one characteristic it would be enthusiasm. They are passionate about the financial industry – but if you aren’t from this background don't worry, they set aside a large proportion of funding and time to train every single employee in this area, including established software engineers. Upon joining the company you'll take part in the Capital Markets Training Programme which is a two year development plan in which everyone participates. This program provides you with the investment banking skills and knowledge to enable you to perform at the level required.
You will need to be comfortable as a team player as you'll find yourself working with both colleagues and clients from many different backgrounds. Excellent interpersonal skills and a great sense of humour will come in handy. Senior employees set aside time to mentor others too – this is a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment. Put simply, my client believe happy people are more productive people. Socialising is crucial - whether its a few beers after work or a football match at the weekend, there is always plenty going on after hours. And they put their money where their mouth is, setting aside a sizeable budget for parties, drinks and an epic Christmas bash.
I am looking for top candidates who have previous successful accomplishments in Java, C#, C++ or C, ideally in an investment banking or financial environment, with excellent academics. Masters and First Class Honours are preferred. I can arrange interviews very promptly as soon as I locate the right people. Maybe you’ve just started your career, or you’re a veteran – these opportunities are at all levels.
In addition you must be available to travel around the world at short notice and work in Newry, Northern Ireland, in-between projects and as such you must have a valid EU passport. Specifically I am looking for candidates who can work in one or more of these regions - London, New York, Chicago, Toronto, Singapore and Sydney/Melbourne. My client are happy to send people to their various geographies to train them and then place them at clients in these cities, and the company will pay for all of the expenses involved in this.
