Some of our most popular FAQs:
I'm an IT candidate and I'm looking for a new job - how to do I register or re-register with you?
To begin with, please upload your CV via this site or email Stuart on stuart.millar@altmore.co.uk and we'll get back to you. If you don't have an up-to-date CV, no problem. Again please call or email and we'll explain the steps to you. We always endeavour to meet our candidates, schedules (and geography) permitting.
I'm in a very good job at the moment so I'm not looking. But I'd like to hear about what is on the horizon in case my circumstances change - is this possible?
Yes - we have a selected talent pool of people we keep abreast of serious career opportunities. Again if you'd like to be part of this, please email Stuart on stuart.millar@altmore.co.uk. We can meet up and talk through what is happening in the future.
I'm a potential client and I might have some requirements - what should I do?
Please call us on +44 (0)2890 328400 or email Stuart on stuart.millar@altmore.co.uk so we can get some brief information and look at it in more detail.
What are your rates?
We can't put these figures in the public domain. But we are happy to discuss this with you privately. Our rates depend on a number of factors - for example, the number of roles you are looking to fill, the difficulty of those roles, your future hiring plans, and how many other recruiting partners you are using.
I'm worried about sending my CV in case somehow my current employer or work colleagues find out. Should I be concerned?
Searching for a new job is a sensitive situation. If you are working for a company that we are also recruiting partners for, we guarantee you total confidentiality. We also guarantee your details will never be released to anyone without your express permission.
I'd like to apply to a particular company but I don't know if you deal with them or not. Can you help?
Sure - we are happy to represent you to a particular employer you have a keen interest in. It happens all the time. If your skills are fairly niche or potentially in-demand in the future, quite often clients bring people on board so they don't miss out on them further down the line. Please get in contact and we can discuss further.
There is a company I'd like to apply to but I interviewed there before through a different agency and it didn't work out. Can you help?
Again this is no problem at all - candidates re-interview regularly with clients. Northern Ireland is a small place and clients will always reconsider candidates they've interviewed before. The final decision always lies with the client to re-interview, but there have been instances where people have interviewed two or three times over the course of a year or two before being hired. It depends on how recently you interviewed as well. We'll consider all the factors and then advise you on the best course of action.
I work for an IT company but not in a technical role - do you look after those sorts of jobs, such as sales, admin, marketing, HR or office managers?
From time to time we do handle those positions. They are fairly rare, as naturally a software house might employ thirty people and there will only be one of each of those sorts of non-IT roles to fill. Best thing you can do is let us know your situation, and we can keep you informed.
I'm looking for a job but I've heard agencies charge for the service. Is this true?
We can't comment on all agencies but our service is totally free of charge to candidates. You will not have to pay us anything and we don't take a cut of your salary.
I have an interview arranged through yourselves but I can't make it. What do I do?
We expect you to contact us right away either on the office number, which is +44 (0)2890 328400, or the mobile number of your consultant. It is critical you tell us as soon as possible so we can make other arrangements, or it could look very unprofessional.
Why don't you put salary information in some of your jobs, or the client name?
Some clients request we do not make the name of their company public. We can reveal this in private of course. The same goes for salary information - some clients have no issue with this being public to generate interest, others prefer to keep it confidential to prevent any internal issues.
Where are your offices?
We are based in Belfast.
How many consultants are there?
We are a team of three specialist IT recruiters.
